Avionic and Survivability Equipment Repairer


As one of the largest ground forces in the world, the U.S. Army needs to make sure that all forces can get the correct information. The Army communications maintenance team is responsible for making sure that all communications equipment is in top working order. This equipment allows the Army to track and direct troop, aircraft and ship movements.

An Avionic Radar Repairer is an essential member of the Army communications maintenance team and is primarily responsible for performing field and sustainment level maintenance on avionic navigation flight control systems, stabilization systems, equipment which operates using radar principles and aircraft survivability equipment. Some of your duties as an Avionic Radar Repairer may include:



  • Maintain, test and repair communication equipment

  • Install and repair circuits and wiring

  • Calibrate and align equipment components

  • Test and isolate faulty assemblies and components

  • Replace parts, rewire equipment, and interconnect components on semiautomatic telephone switchboard equipment

  • Use circuit and wire diagrams and schematics

  • Test repaired equipment
