Valet Jobs

Valet jobs welcome guests and retrieve and park vehicles for patrons of an establishment. Exhibiting excellent customer service at all moments of customer contact, the valet worker must be responsible when operating the vehicles that need to be parked. They do this by examining any prior damage to the vehicles before taking possession and operating it within the scope of laws and regulations and utilizing the designated parking spaces for patrons that opt to valet their cars or trucks.

The minimum educational requirements for valet attendant jobs are a high school diploma, a GED, or equivalent. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age, be excellent communicators, and have a valid driver's license. Individuals must be able to read, write, and speak English. Valet employment will also require workers to be exposed to different environmental conditions. Assisting the driver with entering and exiting the vehicle will ensure the proper level of customer service is shown. Employers may also require that job candidates have not more than one minor traffic incident on their driving record within a certain amount of years.

Opportunities for valet employment will be best found in large metropolitan areas. Individuals that have driving records with no incidents will have the most favorable position to attain valet jobs. Also affected by the highs and lows of the economy, valet jobs will be more in demand as the economy gains strength through the 2006 to 2016 decade. As patronage increases for businesses that have valets, more customers will valet their vehicles requiring more opportunities for employment.
