Metal work involves the creation of building parts for use in air conditioning parts, roofing, siding, stainless steel equipment, gutters, and light metal partitions. Before assembling the pieces the parts are checked for accuracy and potential flaws with fabrication. Measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers are used during this process. After carefully inspecting the pieces workers fasten the different seams and joints together using welds, cement, rivets, bolts, solder, drive clips, and other connecting devices to hold the parts together.
