Front desk jobs are the first point of service interaction for customers. They must be dependable in that they are able to convey the values of the business well since their actions will have a lasting effect on the customers. Employers usually tend to hire individuals with prior experience or who would be a good fit for the position. Energetic, personable, English speaking persons with good spelling skills and a great computer literacy would do well at the position. Front desk jobs with larger establishments, or regions and cities that do a higher volume of business are typically able to hire more front desk associates because of the amount of business.

The job outlook for front desk employment is expected to grow faster than the national average at 17 percent for the years between 2006 2016. As the economy gains momentum people will travel more.
