For more than 90 years, Newman Regional Health has expanded to meet the needs of a growing community and has established a tradition of excellent health care in east central Kansas.
Centrally located within the city of Emporia, NRH is a 25 bed critical access hospital, including a 10 bed acute rehabilitation unit. Newman is a governmental entity operated on a not-for-profit basis.
Newman Regional Health remains a local hospital, owned by the people of Lyon County and governed by a Board of Trustees made up of community leaders. Newman Regional Health is a teaching hospital and is home to the ESU Department of Nursing.
More than 500 employees , 225 volunteers, and 130 physicians, of which 28 are on our active medical staff, and many other professionals make up the patient care team at Newman Regional Health. The hospital provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services.
