This facility is the largest healthcare provider in west central Pennsylvania. This is a tertiary care regional referral hospital known for clinical excellence and nationally recognized patient outcomes and offers specialized services including a regional Level 1 Trauma Center, Level 3 Regional Intensive Care Nursery and high-risk obstetrical care.

Position details:
Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families. Practices to the fullest extent of their license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, functions as a member of the Patient Focused Care Team in collaboration and implementation of the established patients plan of care. Participates with the Nurse Manager in continuous performance improvement. Provides care specific to ages and developmental needs of patients.
Age specific groups are identified as: Neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

Postpartum nurses are responsible for caring for both moms and their newborns after delivery. The postpartum care nurse plays a crucial role in the hours following delivery, monitoring mothers and helping to ensure proper recovery. Postpartum RNs must recognize postpartum depression and teach new moms how to address emotions, while also acting as a teacher for the new parents and usually giving instructions on how to care, bathe, breastfeed and/or bottle-feed the newborn and monitor his or her health.

Required Qualifications
Two-year obstetrical experience, Current PA RN licensure, Basic Life Support, Completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course and Neonatal Resuscitation Certification.
