The Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) unit at this facility is a 20-bed state-of-the-art unit with two critical isolation beds. The type of patients seen includes patients with respiratory failure, circulatory failure, sepsis, meningitis, near drowning, head trauma, multisystem failure, multiple trauma, and unusual or perplexing diagnoses. A team of highly passionate physicians and PICU RN's deliver truly compassionate care in an environment that seeks to involve patients in each step of their healing process. The pediatric intensive care nurse (PICU RN) provides cares for children and adolescents, usually up to the age of 18, with life-threatening or high-acuity conditions that require constant monitoring. Working in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), a high-tech children's services area for critically ill, medically complex, and/or post-surgical patients, the pediatric intensive care RN collaborates with families, physicians, and other healthcare officials to determine the best course of patient care and recovery.

Required Qualifications
1. CA license (active),
2. strong PICU exp from academic hospitals best. 3 years or greater experience required.
3. BSN (firm req 10/15/15)

Preferred Qualifications
Cardiac Surgery experience a plus-Looking for travelers for PCTU - experience with cardiothoracic pediatric patients -open hearts, etc.
