As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our trucks and equipment to keep our fleet of vehicles on the road and safe to operate.  

At Borden, your typical day involves:

  • Performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and service on all vehicles and equipment in the fleet
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment and systems, such as electrical systems, drive trains, air and brake systems, suspension systems, and tires

As a member of our team, these are important things for you to consider:

  • Keeping our fleet in top condition requires working in hot and cold climates, both indoors and outdoors and on refrigerated trucks
  • Our Mechanics provide their own tools
  • To work efficiently, you'll need to be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach for items, climb ladders, lift, move, or pull heavy items (10 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds), and bend over with full range of body motion
  • Some overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts are required for these roles


Here's what you need:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent 

Plus a combination of:

  • A one-year certificate from a college or technical school OR
  • Two years related experience with training in general transportation equipment maintenance and repair OR 
  • A combination of both training and experience

Here's what makes you awesome:

  • Experience with transport refrigeration
  • EPA certifications*
  • Brake Inspector certification*
  • Annual Inspector certification*
  • Class A or Class B commercial driver's license*

*Borden will assist you in obtaining this license/certification, provided you can successfully pass the required testing within three (3) months of hire
