Marine Corps Joint Fire Observer Instructors

Duties: Instructors will provide instruction in accordance with JFO and TACP Programs of Instruction, monitor and evaluate training effectiveness throughout the  course of instruction, provide technical support in the research, development and sustainment of course curricula, and monitor and evaluate JFO and TACP tactics, techniques and procedures under simulated and classroom conditions.  Instructors will also operate the Deployable Virtual Training Equipment- Combined Arms (DVTE-CAN) systems, the Multi-purpose Supporting Arms Trainer (MSAT), the Supporting Arms Virtual Trainer (SAVT), associated gear, equipment or future JCAS ESC approved equipment. 

All Instructors:

-      Graduate of the Curriculum Developers Course or service equivalent 

-       Graduate of a Formal School House Instructor Course

-       SECRET Clearance

-       US Citizen

-       Excellent leadership and communication skills

-       Knowledge of applicable systems including Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design/Systems Approach to Training and Education, Microsoft Office Suite, Marine On-Line and The Marine Corps Training Information Management System

Joint Fire Observer Instructor:  

-       One year of operational experience in a fire support billet and JFO certification

Joint Tactical Air Controller/Forward Air Controller Instructors:

-       One year operational experience as a JTAC, FAC or FAC(A) 

-       Must maintain JTAC currency IAW with the JTAC MOA and TACP T&R Manual
