Infusion - Intravenous Therapy Nurse - (IV RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $30.00 - 32.00
This position presents an opportunity to join an elite team of passionate physicians and nurses within the IV Therapy unit.
IV nurses administer medications, fluids, blood or other solutions via intravenous methods. IV nurses are also responsible for prepping the patient for injection, maintaining the tubing and dressings while the patient is receiving therapy, and monitoring the patient. An IV nurse must be fully aware of potential drug interactions and complications and must be able to recognize and react to these interactions. In addition to addressing patient needs, this specialty requires extensive knowledge of:
- Infection control
- IV-related technology IV nurses can work in a variety of settings, including:
- Long-term care facilities
- A patient's home
- Ambulatory care centers
