Oncology Nurse - (Onc RN)

The role of the oncology nurse (Onc RN) is to provide care for cancer patients throughout all stages of their conditions, but usually focusing on the acute phase. The Onc RN will help patients ranging from post-surgical to near-terminal manage their disease and treatment effectively, and may also be responsible for administering chemotherapy (which requires additional certification). Oncology nurses may practice in hospitals and outpatient facilities or provide home-based care.

Accredited by The Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), this Seattle area-based hospital facility provides a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care, including cancer, cardiovascular, behavioral health, orthopedics, and family and women's care. Licensed for 223 beds, Good Samaritan Community Healthcare also features a children's therapy unit, family birth center, and 24-hour emergency care.
