The Yardi legal department seeks a highly-motivated individual with paralegal-related experience to join the legal team as a Paralegal II at our corporate headquarters in Santa Barbara. 

This non-exempt position requires a regular weekday work schedule, reports to the legal department, and involves:

Drafting, editing and reviewing correspondence for a wide variety of recipients including other paralegals, in-house attorneys, internal departments, customers, opposing counsel and third-party consumers
Researching rules and regulations such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other state and local rules and regulations that apply to specific business areas including utility billing, tenant screening, vendor compliance, data security and others
Assisting other paralegals and in-house attorneys located in Santa Barbara and Boston as needed, including with the management of ongoing and threatened litigation and organizing and maintaining business and litigation files, software license files, and other projects
Assisting with contract management and review, lease management and review, and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Three to seven years of relevant prior work experience
Bachelor's degree or a combination of a paralegal certification (current or lapsed) and prior relevant work experience
Prior experience as a paralegal in a corporate or law firm setting
Strong attention to detail, openness to feedback and direction, and an ability to stay organized, prioritize, and multitask in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent time management skills and an ability to take accountability for completing projects with minimal supervision and to inspire the same in others
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills including presenting complex subject matter to others
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Outlook and Excel
Experience performing research projects and presenting research findings
Comfortable learning and mastering proprietary software
Ability to work both independently and as a contributing team member
Basic contract review and analysis experience
Desire to learn and grow in the position
Friendliness and collegiality a must!

Desired Qualifications

Strong research skills preferred
Current California Notary Public appointment a plus
Microsoft® OneNote and SharePoint experience a plus
Advanced contract review and interpretation experience
