Summary


The Risk Management Specialist works closely with the Transportation & Safety, Operations and Training & Development teams to provide materials, guidance and hands-on assistance in both risk management and safety compliance.  This involves working closely with the operations and compliance departments to constantly communicate and respond to franchises regarding annual risk improvement visits, model safety programs and provide ongoing support to franchises. This position also monitors, measures and reports franchise compliance with risk management policies and programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees and supports franchises with their risk management program
    • Provides training on tools and resources
    • Assists with implementing, updating and overseeing risk management program
    • Trains all levels of staff at the franchise level
    • Provides guidance on OSHA compliance and other regulations
    • Completes on-site risk assessments and works with locations to improve scores
    • Coordinates monthly support for safety committees
    • Manages and updates individual franchises risk management scorecard
    • Completes annual needs assessment and custom programs
    • Develops and assists with implementation of annual action plan for franchises most common losses
    • Assist with development of policies and procedures as needed
  • Assists with the Training & Development team and third party vendors to ensure risk management training programs are developed and regularly updated
  • Supports the development and updates of risk management online training manuals
    • Collaborates with risk management team to provide up to date and relevant content
  • Assists with monitoring, updating and promoting risk management tools and services including model safety policies, safety training calendars, claims assistance program
  • Assists with monthly Risk Management & Fleet Safety newsletter
  • Assists with maintenance of risk management Hub pages; Updates headlines twice a month
  • Assist franchises with technical support of the annual safety submissions
  • Develops and maintains strong understanding of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® System and operating procedures
  • Participates in the Annual Meeting and other conferences/seminars as needed
  • Provides regular reporting to Safety and Risk Management and coordinates updates on related programs with third party vendors
  • Other duties assigned by the Safety and Risk Management

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in HR, Safety, DOT or a related field is required.  Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of two+ years relevant industry and/or System experience, which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities, is required
  • General knowledge of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® System
  • Understanding of OSHA laws and regulations
  • Basic understanding of Human Resources
  • Basic understanding of DOT regulations
  • General knowledge of Risk management policies and procedures
  • Active listening skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent reading comprehension skills
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations                                                                                 

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.  Travel is required.
