SUMMARY: Administers all aspects of the FMLA anddisability leave program, including FMLA and ADA. Communicate with managementand employees about leave availability and requirements, administer leave, andcoordinate leave with disability insurance, workers compensation, and paidtime off.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.Administersleave of Absence requests:
a.assistsemployees with leave of absence requests and guides them through the process
b.processesall leave of absence paperwork according to established procedures and laws
c.communicateswith management leave of absence situations and provides guidance within thepolicy and established legal guidelines
d.keepscomplete records of all LOA requests/ADA Accommodation request and maintainstracking and analysis of data.
2.Administersthe FMLA program:
a.receivesand reviews requests for FMLA leave
b.answersquestions from employees and managers on FMLA leave
c.coordinatesthe return-to-work process for FMLA leaves of absence
d.Maintainsdatabases and performs other tasks to ensure the accuracy of FMLA and personalleave records and files.
3.Communicatescross functionally with all parties to achieve timely, accurate data entry forstatus changes in the HR/Payroll system as it relates to LOA.
4.Providestimely and accurate responses to associates and all levels of managementconcerning day-to-day issues and activities.
5.Consults/conferswith community HR Contact regarding LOA requests. Consults with Legal whennecessary.
6.Coordinatescommunication between employees and managers during the leave.
7.Workswith employees on leave to arrange for payment of benefits when they are nolonger receiving a paycheck from the company. Tracks and ensures proper posting of benefit payments.
8.Receivesrequests for other types of disability-related leave, including leave requestedas a reasonable accommodation under the ADA and leave arising out of awork-related injury or illness. Ensures all applicable leave laws areconsidered and applied, and coordinates with paid time off and other leave andinsurance programs. Communicates withemployees and managers regarding leave designation and status.
9.Ensuresconfidentiality of employee medical and leave records.
10.Maintains up-to-date workingknowledge of relevant laws, including FMLA, ADA, workers compensation, HIPAA,and other privacy laws. Identifies and attends professional developmentprograms as appropriate.

Excellent organizational and tracking skills.
Requires excellent customer service skills and an ability to deal withdifficult and stressful situations, ability to interpret and analyze multiplefacts, clear and confident communication skills and the ability to workindependently.
Should have a solid understanding of FMLA/ADA and employment law.
Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and HRIS (PeopleSoft andKronos preferred).
Two years of experience in human resources program administration withdemonstrated experience dealing with confidential information, complexrecordkeeping and file management, and counseling employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree required.
Bachelors degree in HR or a related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience as a Human Resources Assistant or Coordinatorstrongly preferred.
Leave Management experience is preferred.
