N. Wasserstrom & Sons is looking for a Refrigeration Service Technician to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. This skilled technical position is responsible for building commercial refrigerator equipment to include compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps and pipe insulation. If you have good attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with your hands, this job is for you!

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to work with cordless/pneumatic and basic hand tools. Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch. Ability to add and subtract fractions. Ability to understand and work with build documents and basic drawings. Attention to detail and group problem-solving skills required. Must be mechanically inclined.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

HVAC certification a plus. High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Learning the proper techniques for brazing. Understanding how to look at a print and determine what components to use. Prepping parts – blowers, compressors, etc. Knowledge of basic electrical.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Medium to Heavy Work - exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Required to walk. Must be able to see close up and also at a distance. Must be able to talk and hear.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Manufacturing environment may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors or dust. Ambient temperatures. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually moderate but may be severe at times.
