Newlyweds Foods, a privately held successful global leader in food ingredient technology has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic. This position will require flexibility with standard shift of Monday - Friday from 2:00pm - 11:00pm. Overtime and weekend hours will be required for this position. Newlyweds Foods employees over 2,700 employee in 24 Production plants and 17 Research Centers in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, Phillipines, Thailand and Australia.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that the plants equipment is performing at maximum potential to keep production lines running smoothly. The ability to make timely electrical and mechanical repairs is a critical part of this role. The ideal candidate is expected to comply with all Food Industry Safety Standards and GMP regulations.

Essential Duties and Skills:

Performs regular preventative maintenance following schedules as well as identifies any other repairs or needs and schedules those by communicating with Production Manager and Supervisors, Maintenance Manager, and other team members

Properly and timely document of maintenance records on all repairs and preventative maintenance performed

Completes requisitions and makes sure adequate parts for repairs and other maintenance requests can be successfully fulfilled in production areas

Ensures maintenance work areas are sanitized and cleaned as required by GMP's

Participates in pass-down shift change meetings to properly communicate and advise of required maintenance work to perform while partnering with other team members

Reports equipment issues, quality and any other issues as appropriate

Performs other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

High school Diploma or Equivalent

Trade School or College Degree preferred

1-2 years experience performing similar mechanical duties within warehouse and/or manufacturing environment

3-5 years experience performing mechanical duties in warehouse and/or manufacturing environment

Proven understanding and ability to repair industrial electrical systems as well as mechanical systems

Ability to trouble shoot systems and equipment to determine root causes of problems

Must be able to successfully pass mechanical assessments

Must have good computer skills

Effective written and oral communication skills

Ability to work independently with limited supervision

Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures

Must be able to perform  heavy lifting duties including pushing and  pulling 50-100lbs repeatedly during shift

Must be able to stand, lift twist, turn, bend, and climb platforms continuously during shift
